专业概况

在这里学什么？

Biological science is the study of life in all its forms, from the single-celled to entire ecosystems. Our biological sciences program offers a broad foundation in the basic principals of biology you need to build your career. We offer opportunities for specialization in biology education, biomedical science, and ecology that make your college experience your own and your degree exactly what you want it to be. And, you’ll work with faculty mentors in microbiology, physiology, plant biology and zoology to put your biggest dreams in reach.

AREAS OF STUDY

Our degree program maximizes resources within every area of the sciences. This means our students go where their career plans and academic ambition take them, no matter which area of biological sciences appeals to them the most – whether teaching, med school, or lab or field research.

ECOLOGY

The Ecology specialization is intended for students interested in the interactions between organisms and their environment. This track allows students to pursue studies in community, ecosystem, and restoration ecology.

The Ecology track curriculum is drawn from three life-science departments in the College of Agricultural, Life, and Physical Sciences and from appropriate physical and computational sciences.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
