SIU is an important part of the culture of the entire Southern Illinois region. Graduate students in the School of Music are part of that cultural landscape – and have been for generations. Whether your interest is pedagogy or performance or anything in between, at SIU you’ll find faculty mentors to challenge and advise you on your journey.

We offer the Master of Music degree, with various concentrations. We’ll help you find the right path for your career, and we’ll provide the resources to put it all within reach.

Orchestral Instruments: The degree is intended for those who wish to pursue a performing career as an orchestral musician, or a teaching career at the university or community college level, as well as to prepare for a doctoral program in performance.

为来自中国的学生设计 Applicants must have completed 2.7 (on a grading scale with 4.0=A; approximately a "B-" average) on the last two years of bachelor’s coursework; 3.0 on all previous graduate work (approximately a "B" average). English Language Requirement: 550 on the paper based TOEFL; 80 on the internet based TOEFL; 6.5 on the IELTS; 5.0 on the iTep Academic Plus Exam; C1 required on the Cambridge English Exam.
