The SRU Biology major is an excellent choice if you're preparing for graduate study and a career as a physical therapist.

WHY CHOOSE BIOLOGY: PRE-PHYSICAL THERAPY?

The Biology program at SRU will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to start pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The SRU Biology major provides an introduction to the basic biological principles at the molecular, cellular, organism and population levels. This program will provide you with a breadth of training in the biological sciences, or concentrations in the paramedical fields.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?

Biology Pre-Physical Therapy SRU 3+3:

Earn a Doctor of Physical Therapy in six years rather than seven. In the first three years, you complete your biology major courses and pre-requisites for the SRU DPT program. During your third undergraduate year, you apply for admission into the SRU DPT program. If accepted, your first year in the SRU DPT program meets the remaining requirements for your undergraduate degree. If not accepted, you continue to complete your undergraduate degree and can reapply to the program. The accelerated option is for incoming freshmen only.

CAREER AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST:

Upon completion of the Biology undergraduate program and the Doctorate of Physical Therapy program you will be well prepared to embark on your career as a Physical Therapist, a growing profession with increasing demand.

为来自中国的学生设计 International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
