专业概况

Accounting is a system that provides quantitative information about finances, maintains and audits financial records, and prepares reports for investors and managers to help them make business decisions. The accounting program at the UC Carl H. Lindner College of Business (Lindner) is designed to prepare students for careers in public and corporate accounting through a rigorous course of study. This includes general education requirements, as well as basic courses in all business disciplines, accounting and career exploration and development.

Success

Successful accountants possess excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze information. Other attributes include: Problem solving skills, Ability to identify and control risk, Strong communication skills, Team building skills.

Career

Graduates of the UC Lindner College of Business accounting program can find career opportunities in public and corporate accounting. Employers include both national and international public accounting firms (Big 4), regional and local public accounting firms, financial services firms, manufacturing firms and retailers, and others. Examples of jobs include: CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) in public auditing, Managerial/cost accountants, internal revenue agents, Tax consultants, Internal auditors, Financial executives, Accounting professionals in governmental and non-profit organizations.

为来自中国的学生设计 Student need to have: Graduation from an accredited high school of preparatory school; Successful completion of 16 units of college-preparatory subjects: English (4 units); biology and chemistry (2 units); college-prep mathematics (3 units); social sciences (2 units) fine arts (1 unit); additional college preparatory subjects (4 units). Recommended: foreign language, anatomy and physiology or a third unit in social science with a grade of C or better in all required courses; Recommended minimum high school GPA of 3.0; Completed application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.
