专业概况

The Department of Pharmacology offers graduate programs leading to the degrees of Master of Science.

Our graduate programs offer opportunities to investigate the molecular and biological processes that regulate cellular and organ functions and the mechanisms underlying diseases and drugs in the cardiovascular, cancer, diabetes and neuroscience areas.

Program Requirements:

Students are required to complete a minimum of ★3 in coursework and a thesis.

Coursework:

At least one ★3 graduate-level Pharmacology course

The program for each student will be determined by their supervisory committee and will be subject to approval by GSEC if required

Additional coursework may be required

Thesis:

Registration in 900-level THES. Students must prepare and defend a thesis on an approved research topic.

Residence Requirement:

The minimum period of residence is two four-month terms of full-time attendance at the University of Alberta

Length of Program:

The time required to complete the MSc will vary with the individual candidate; however, a minimum of 24 months is normally required.

The maximum time to complete the thesis-based MSc program as set by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research is four years.
