The BA International Business Management is aimed at developing the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a complex and ever-changing global business environment. The course has an internationally focused curriculum, which features a study abroad option.

The course embodies the principles of student employability and career development through its practical application of relevant academic concepts and theories to the international workplace. All subjects studied on the programme are relevant to the world of work, across specialist disciplines and sectors.

The skills developed to achieve academic success are also those required by international employers and for study at higher levels. The flexibility of the programme allows students opportunities to specialise or to maintain their general studies to keep their options open depending on the trends in the job market.

Course Overview

This programme offers an academically challenging, vocational experience which incorporates innovative teaching and assessment methods. Students will be expected to be active in managing their learning experience, to be creative and to take initiatives to develop themselves. The opportunity to study business and management in action is a rewarding intellectual experience which also provides a well-grounded base for future career development.

The programme is designed with an emphasis on work-based learning in order to develop your employability skills in preparation for a career in international business. The international job marketplace is increasingly competitive and our graduates exit with significant subject knowledge and relevant skills designed to meet the demands of employers. Possible careers are very diverse including entry (often with exemptions) to the management professions, management trainee programmes in financial institutions, services or manufacturing, management in public and third sector organisations, self-employment, teacher education or further study at master's or PhD levels.

The faculty offers an MBA with an international business specialism for those who wish to undertake further study. The flexibility of study on the programme empowers students to gear their studies to their career ambitions and personal circumstances. The programme’s interaction with employers, the possibility of integration of work-based learning and internships further accentuate the employability of graduates and the currency of the programme content.
