专业概况

Management keeps everything running smoothly in the business world. It involves decision-making, supervision and strategic planning to most effectively utilize human and physical resources for optimal performance.

We help you learn the technical, technological and human resource management skills vital in today’s modern enterprises. Our curriculum develops and enhances valuable methods, tools, techniques and skills while emphasizing creative thinking and problem solving.

OUR CURRICULUM

We give you the opportunity to focus your interests and career goals through five specializations in our management bachelor’s curriculum: general management, entrepreneurship, supply chain management, human resource management and management of health-care enterprises. Our premier faculty members enhance our curriculum by providing the most up-to-date management expertise, gained through cutting-edge research and practical experience.

As a Management major, you will need to maintain a cumulative 2.00 GPA in all courses required for your major. With most management classes having no more than 35 students, you will receive our personal attention.

ELECTIVES

We realize that each student has different goals and objectives so in conjunction with our diverse specializations, we offer a wide variety of elective Management courses. They give you the opportunity to explore the breadth and depth of each specialization. ADVANCED STUDY

Our management graduates are prepared for a multitude of management careers as well as for advanced studies. Graduates can pursue advanced studies working toward an MBA and/or a doctorate in business with a management specialty.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVES

Graduates from our management program are prepared for interesting and challenging positions in businesses, government and non-profit organizations. Our graduates should be able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, interact with others to accomplish objectives, make sound decisions and employ management concepts and principles appropriately. Our graduates will find employment opportunities awaiting them in consulting firms, high-tech organizations, manufacturing and service operations and businesses and organizations large and small.

SPECIALIZATIONS

The general management specialization is excellent preparation for entry-level positions as management trainees, supervisors, personnel specialists or human resource coordinators. If your interests are with creating a new business venture or revitalizing an existing smaller firm, the entrepreneurship specialization is for you. In today’s competitive global environment, efficiently managing the flow of material, goods, services and information through the value chain from suppliers to customers is essential and the supply chain management specialization is the ticket, preparing graduates for entry-level positions as operations supervisors, operations schedules, logistics planners and buyers. If work as a human resource manager, recruiter, or director of human resources appeal to you, our human resource management specialization will be of interest as it focuses on the managerial strategies and programs critical for effectively using the skills and abilities of personnel. The health-care specialization focuses on applying sound management and leadership principles to the operation of health care facilities and health services organizations and can lead to work as an office manager, assistant administrator or project coordinator.
