专业概况

在这里学什么？

The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Zoology requires students to choose one of the following specializations: Animal Biology; Environmental Biology; Fisheries Biology and Aquatic Conservation; Pre-Veterinary Science; Wildlife Biology and Conservation.

We also offer a course in Marine Biology which includes a 5-day field trip to the Gulf of Mexico over Spring Break.

Fisheries Biology and Aquatic Conservation

The Fisheries track is designed for students whose primary interest is in the ecology and management of fishes and aquatic ecosystems. Our students learn about fish in aquatic ecosystems, fish ecology and biology and also the management of fisheries. This is appropriate for those with career goals in fish or aquatic ecosystem management, aquaculture, or graduate studies in applied fish biology. Students are offered career-related experience, and both practical and critical thinking skills.

为来自中国的学生设计 Students must have completed a high school or equivalent. Academic Requirements (grade point averages are on a 4.0 scale and are calculated by SIU): 26 credits or more at another college/university - submit college/university transcripts showing a GPA of 2.0 or greater on all coursework; 0-25 credits at another college/university - submit high school AND university/college transcripts showing 2.0 GPA on all coursework; 5 Passes on the GCE O or A level exams (under the Cambridge/ed excel model). English Language Requirement: TOEFL - 68 on the internet-based test; TOEFL - 520 on the paper-based test; ITEP - 4.0 (academic plus only); IELTS - 6.0.
