The SRU Public Health major is an excellent choice if you're preparing for graduate study and a career as a physician assistant.

WHY CHOOSE PUBLIC HEALTH: PRE-PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT?

The Public Health program educates the whole person and prepares you to work as a professional in the public health field. Our curriculum emphasizes healthy lifestyles, multicultural health needs, research and advances in health, and use of the latest computer-related technology.

WHAT ARE YOUR OPTIONS?

Public Health Pre-Physician Assistant 3+2: This highly accelerated and challenging program enables you to earn a Master's of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 5 years, rather than the traditional six. The 3+2 option in any program is not available to transfer students.

Public Health Pre-Physician Assistant 4+2: You can complete the Public Health major and all Physician Assistant pre-requisites in 4 years and apply to the SRU or other PA programs in the country.

Public Health Pre-Physician Assistant with Chatham University: SRU also has an articulation agreement with Chatham University whereby Chatham will reserve two of the approximately 70 seats in its Masters of Physician Assistant Studies program for SRU students. You can complete the Public Health major and all Physician Assistant pre-requisites in 4 years and apply to the Chatham program.

Upon completion of the Public Health undergraduate program and the Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program you will be well prepared to embark on your career as a Physician Assistant, a booming profession with increasing demand.

为来自中国的学生设计 International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
