The master’s program in Environmental Engineering provides students with a broad understanding of environmental issues such as the links between natural and industrial ecosystems and the tools to measure conditions such as pollutants and their movement. The degree allows flexibility in program design, specialization and opportunities for employment with major corporations, government agencies and private consulting and construction firms.

Program Objectives

The objectives of the Master of Science in Environmental Engineering program are:

Engineering Practice: Recent alumni are successfully engaged in the practice of environmental engineering within industry, government, and private practice, working in a wide array of areas of environmental planning, pollution control, water and waste treatment, solid and hazardous waste management, and water resources.

Professional Growth: Recent alumni advance their professional growth and development through activities such as graduate study in engineering, professional registration, and continuing education; some graduates transition into other professional fields such as business and law through further education.

Service: Recent alumni perform service to society and the engineering profession through membership and participation in professional societies, government, civic organizations, and humanitarian endeavors. NJIT’s institutional goals include the following: Research Based Inquiry; Ethical Conduct; Economic Opportunity; Collaboration; and Engagement.

Learning Outcomes

为来自中国的学生设计 To be considered for a master's program at NJIT, you must have completed a four-year undergraduate program accredited in the United States, or its equivalent and demonstrates strong academic achievement in an appropriate discipline. Students with TOEFL scores of 550 (Paper-based); 213 (Computer-based); 79 (Internet-based); 6.5 (IELTS).
