Overview

The Human Development and Community Engagement Degree is a four-year Bachelor of Science program offered through the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology. Students are afforded opportunities to collaborate with programs and non-profit agencies in urban city centers that initiate social change and diversity actions for communities, families, and individuals.

The program provides strong theoretical foundations as well as practical experience that gives students the applicable skills needed to serve under-represented and need-based populations mostly in non-profit and/or in governmental agencies. Additionally, students gain valuable knowledge in areas of cognitive, socioeconomic, and social emotional growth that will serve populations ranging from birth through adulthood.

Our program requirements offer students a variety of interventions to affect community and individual change. In doing so, this program covers subjects such as communication, curriculum and training design, human development, program evaluation and understanding urban communities.

为来自中国的学生设计 Student need to have: Graduation from an accredited high school of preparatory school; Successful completion of 16 units of college-preparatory subjects: English (4 units); biology and chemistry (2 units); college-prep mathematics (3 units); social sciences (2 units) fine arts (1 unit); additional college preparatory subjects (4 units). Recommended: foreign language, anatomy and physiology or a third unit in social science with a grade of C or better in all required courses; Recommended minimum high school GPA of 3.0; Completed application and official high school or preparatory school transcripts.
