The energy option covers the major areas of current interest in the energy field. The required courses provide students with general background knowledge of fossil fuels, nuclear power, solar energy and other alternative energy resources. The elective courses will permit the student to study topics of special interest in more depth or gain a broader perspective on energy and some closely related subjects.

You’ll gain a solid foundation of engineering principles through challenging courses and hands-on learning in our state-of-the-art laboratories alongside award-winning faculty. The considerable number of electives in the curriculum offers flexibility so you can design a program that meets your needs and interests.

Program Objectives

This option covers the major areas of current interest in the energy field. The required courses provide students with general background knowledge of fossil fuels, nuclear power, solar energy, and other alternative energy resources. The elective courses will permit the student to study topics of special interest in more depth or gain a broader perspective on energy and some closely related subjects. Three courses are required, and a minimum of two additional courses of at least three credits each should be selected from the electives list. Students interested in the energy option should declare their intention to the department faculty during the sophomore year.

The bioengineering program seeks to provide an environment and opportunities that enable students to pursue their goals in an innovative program with a diversity of offerings that is rigorous and challenging.

为来自中国的学生设计 Admission to UNH is competitive. A student’s academic record, including program of study, class rigor, standing in their class, and achievement is of primary importance in assessing a student’s potential for success at UNH. Students should complete the following sequences of college preparatory coursework to be considered minimally qualified for baccalaureate admission to the University: Demonstrated proficiency in English, Three years of mathematics, Three years of science, Three years of social sciences and Two years of a single foreign language (If English is your first language). International students, whose primary language is not English, must submit the results of a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Duolingo. The recommended minimum TOEFL score is 213 (computer version) or 550 (paper version) or 80 (Internet version). The minimum IELTS acceptable proficiency grade is 6.5. The minimum Duolingo scores are 70.
