The Biochemistry: Pre-Pharmacy program at SRU will prepare you for entry into the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) School of Pharmacy. Through this program, you'll spend three years at SRU before continuing to LECOM to complete your PharmD.

WHY CHOOSE BIOCHEMISTRY: PRE-PHARMACY?

Leveraging our partnership with LECOM, you will successfully complete a three-year undergraduate program in pre-pharmacy at SRU, then matriculate into LECOM School of Pharmacy to complete the professional curriculum of the Doctor of Pharmacy degree in three years.

The accelerated professional pharmacy curriculum at LECOM School of Pharmacy is offered in a challenging, rigorous 12-month program per academic year. The accelerated pace enables you to get into the workforce faster and more economically.

Through a 3+3 affiliation agreement, you can continue to LECOM after your third year of study at SRU. After successfully completing your first year at LECOM, you can apply for and receive your BS in Biochemistry from SRU.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

In the Biochemistry Pre-Pharmacy program, you will take courses in chemistry and biology to understand the techniques most useful in biochemistry, pharmacy, and related medical fields. Among other classes, your coursework will include:

• Biochemistry II lecture and lab
• General chemistry
• Chemistry lab
• Genetics
• Principles of biology

CAREERS IN BIOCHEMISTRY

While the goal of the program is successful completion of your PharmD degree, a BS in Biochemistry will also prepare you for careers in:

• Business and sales
• Medicine and pharmacology
• Patent law after earning a M.S. and J.D
• Political lobbying

为来自中国的学生设计 International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
