Forensic chemists provide a scientific analysis of evidence gathered at a crime scene. Eyewitness accounts may not be reliable, but your contribution as a forensic scientist provides unbiased facts to be submitted for consideration.

The major in Forensic Chemistry at SRU will provide you with a strong background in chemistry through small class sizes, high-quality instruction, undergraduate research opportunities, one-on-one work with faculty, and hands-on experience with state of the art instruments.

WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?

Coursework for the major in Forensic Chemistry includes Forensic Analysis lecture and laboratory, which provides theory and hands-on laboratory experiences for forensic-related careers. Principles of Biology, Genetics, and Molecular Biology further enrich your scientific knowledge, while Introduction to Criminology and Criminal Investigations will give you an understanding of what the role of a Forensic Chemist is.

The major Forensic Chemistry at SRU will prepare you for a career in federal and state investigation agencies, private investigation firms, graduate school or research institutions, or medicine, pharmacy, and pharmacology.

为来自中国的学生设计 International applicants who have not enrolled in any post secondary institution since graduating high school should apply as freshmen. Advanced standing may be considered for those students who have completed IB programs, GCE A-levels (advanced or advanced subsidiary) examinations. English language requirements: Applicants must score a minimum of 61 on the internet based test (iBT), a minimum of 500 on the written test or a minimum of a 173 on the computer based test. Applicants must receive an overall IELTS score at band 6.0 or above.
